To Promote / Provide Quality Education on sustainable basis at Reasonable fees, affordable by poor. To reach Hundred Thousand (1,00,000) children by 2015.

 

What we do ?

 
We identify schools in rural areas serving poor population and support them financially by giving loans and also non-financially by conducting capacity building programs for teaching staff and management.

 

It normally takes around five to seven years for schools to break even and generate surplus. 3S Education Trust identifies schools who wish to run school on sustainable basis and who are catering to rural poor children. The schools must be minimum two years old and should have classes at least till grade III. 3S will give loans in phased manner for infrastructure development with grace period of 1-3 years and the loan tenures are normally between 3 to 5 years.

 

3S works with school management in making school business plan, school promotion (marketing) activities, and guide them in working with accordance to the plan. 3S arranges training programs for Teachers on new teaching methodologies by renowned Educationists. Creates a platform for teachers of various schools to interact and learn from each other.


3S recognizes schools and teaching staff who have done exceptionally well in the academic year.

How do we raise funds ?

 
The whole project is going to be 100% sustainable. 3S is a registered not-for-profit trust with 80G and 12A registrations with Income-Tax Department, but we are not looking for charitable money. 3S take loans from Individuals and Corporate Companies at interest of 9 to 9.5% per annum for tenure of 3 to 5 years with bullet repayment. This amount in turn will be given as loan to the schools at 13 to 15% interest. The difference amount is used for admin expenses, payments to experts, loan loss reserves, etc. Surplus generated will used to for the same cause.

 

Corporate companies under CSR program can give Long Term soft Loans, to support schools in Rural Areas, with grace period of 3-5 years. If the corporate do not wish to receive the interest, same will be used to pay fees for orphans/ultra poor children.
